Our Work:

The 4 R’s of Recovery

Our work in the Peruvian Amazon is comprised of four primary functions, which we call “The 4 R’s of Recovery”. The “4 R’s of Recovery” are the “Rescue” of injured or orphaned wildlife, the “Rehabilitation” of those animals during their stay at our center, and the successful “Release” and monitoring those animals back to their habitats in the Amazon Rainforest. The forth “R”, “Raising Awareness”, is perhaps the most critically important aspect of our work, which is educating local adults and children through community outreach, environmental education programs, and ecotourism about the care, condition and conservation status of Amazonian wildlife.

Team Work:

Each of the functions of the “4 R’s of Recovery” come with their own specific needs, unique challenges, tasks, and duties, and each of these functions must be accomplished together in concert with the highest level of competency with a highly qualified and well-orchestrated team. With over 10 years of experience in the field of rescue, rehabilitation, release, and raising awareness, each member of our team has had years of experience working with the animals from the Amazon. Additionally, they have studied these Amazonian species extensively from real world hands on experience and at the university level in Master and Doctorate studies. Each member of our team brings with them their own unique set of very specific and highly specialized skills to address the needs of our rescued animals in rehabilitation. Members of  our team include aquatic marine biologists, wildlife rehabilitators, wildlife nutritionists, and trained veterinarians, that insure the safety and survival of the animal from rescue to release.

Experienced and Expert Guides:

Out team includes very experienced and expert Wildlife Guides who have extensive and specialized knowledge of Amazonian flora and fauna. Our Wildlife Guides are trained to teach Environmental Education Programs to adults and children and offer enjoyable, educational and insightful experiences for our tourists as guides at our rescue center.
